BrahMos missile with indigenous seeker test-fired successfully

Test fire of the supersonic cruise missile Brahmos has been conducted successfully by India on Thursday.

The test fire of Brahmos, which is integrated with homegrown seeker against a designated target, was launched from the Pokhran test range in Rajasthan.

The launch was conducted on Thursday at around 8:42 AM in the morning in the presence of senior officials. The missile successfully hit the designated target while fulfilling all the parameters. The launch was tracked by all the telemetry and tracking stations.

Nirmala Sitharaman, union Defence minister, congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Armed forces for the successful launch of the missile on Twitter.

“The precision strike formidable weapon with Indian-made seeker flew in its designated trajectory and hit the target with pin-point accuracy. The successful test will further bolster our national security,” she wrote on Twitter.

Brahmos is the most lethal and potent weapon known for its precision. It can be used on Land, Sea, and Air. The missile is made jointly by India and Russia and was also exhibited during the Republic Day parade. The missile has been inducted by the Indian Army and Indian Navy.

Last year, the missile was fired by the Indian Air  Force Su-30MKI aircraft.
