PITHORAGARH (Uttarakhand) - Pilgrimages to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district will be temporarily suspended starting June 25, announced Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam official LM Tiwari. This decision comes amidst concerns that monsoon rains could disrupt the journeys to these high-altitude sites, Tiwari stated on Monday.
The suspension of yatras (pilgrimages) is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pilgrims as adverse weather conditions could pose risks at these elevated locations. Bookings for the yatras are expected to resume in September, following the pattern set after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jolingkong last October.

The yatras commenced on May 13, attracting around 600 devotees eager to undertake this spiritual journey.
