Patna: Fearless criminals executed a major robbery in Siwan, Bihar, looting Rs 20 lakh from an ATM franchise at gunpoint. The incident occurred in the Maharajganj police station area of the district, where armed criminals on a motorcycle carried out the heist. Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter, creating an atmosphere of fear among business owners following this significant robbery.

This incident comes on the heels of an unsolved case of a multi-million rupee robbery from a jewelry shop in Begusarai. In Siwan, the criminals targeted businessman Sushil Kumar, who was depositing money at an India-One ATM located at Janta Bazar in the Saran district. Late on Friday evening, armed assailants confronted Sushil Kumar and his associate, robbing them at gunpoint and escaping with Rs 20 lakh near Bajrang Bali place between Takipur-Bagouchha in the police station area. Sushil Kumar, a resident of Mardanpur in the Daraunda police station area, filed a complaint with the local police station.

Inspector Pramod Kumar of the Maharajganj police station mentioned that the franchise employees had come to deposit money in the India-One ATM when the criminals struck. The police are actively conducting raids to apprehend the culprits involved in this daring robbery.

It's noteworthy that incidents of robbery have seen a significant rise in Bihar recently. A Gold Loan Bank in Shekhpura was targeted, resulting in the theft of gold worth Rs 2 crore with the alleged involvement of the manager. The police, however, managed to uncover the plot, recover the stolen gold, and arrest the conspirator manager. Subsequently, another jewelry shop in Begusarai fell victim to a robbery where crores of rupees were stolen. Daily occurrences of mobile, chain, and cash robberies continue to contribute to the growing concern over the state's security situation.
