MANIPUR: Imphal-East- Amidst ongoing unrest in Manipur, a disturbing incident unfolded as a furious mob set ablaze two vehicles. According to officials, this act of violence was in retaliation to a fire outbreak in Imphal East district. The targeted vehicles, suspected of being involved in the transportation of household goods for a specific ethnic community, were mercilessly burned on Mahabali Road near the historic Kangla fort. Prompt intervention by the police managed to control the situation, dispersing the unruly mob. Thankfully, both drivers of the torched vehicles managed to escape unharmed.

Adding to the list of unsettling events, a late-night clash between opposing factions erupted in Laikot near Yaingangpokpi, Imphal West district. Gunfire exchanged between the two sides escalated the tension in the area.


These distressing incidents follow the tragic loss of four lives, including that of a Manipur police commando, along with several others sustaining injuries in separate locations in Bishnupur district.
