BREAKING! NCERT now cuts Periodic Table, Democracy From Class 10

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an independent agency of the Government of India, is said to have removed the chemistry periodic table from Class 10 science textbooks, following the recent removal of parts from Class 12 political science textbooks. Democracy, the Periodic Table, and energy sources will no longer be included in textbooks for Class 10. In an effort to lessen the "burden on students," the entire chapters on the subjects have now been eliminated.

The periodic table of chemistry is said to have been taken out of the Class 10 textbooks by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

As per NCERT, books have been rationalised due to difficulty level, irrelevant content, and to provide easily accessible and self-learnable content. Other subject areas in the same class have also experienced similar content overlap and inclusion in lower and higher classes in the same subject. It's not the first time that NCERT has left out or removed particular subjects.

Earlier,  along with Mughal Empire chapters, NCERT has cut and omitted the lessons on Gandhiji which were to be studied by Class XII political science students. Sections such as Hindu-Muslim unity, RSS ban following Gandhi's assassination and some historical events unpleasant for the RSS have also alleged to have been removed.

There was a tremendous deal of anxiety when the theory of evolution was removed from the Class 10 curriculum earlier this year. The NCERT has just released textbooks that contain additional cuts, including the removal of a chapter on the periodic table.
