The second most common cancer is Breast Cancer, It is  very scary thought and all too many women assume that it won’t happen to them.  As per a report every ten minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. In India also Breast Cancer is very common and its detection time is very late. So, don’t be ignorant, during breast cancer. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month awareness month 2022 celebrated to increase awareness on the issue.

Every 1 in 4 cancer case among women Breast Cancer. It is  the leading cause of death from cancer in women. The estimated 2.2 million new cases indicate that one in every 10  . In 2020, there were an estimated 684,996 deaths from breast cancer, with a disproportionate number of these deaths occurring in low-resource settings. Early detection is very important in Breast Cancer. Following are the causes of breast cancer.

A lump in your breast or underarm that doesn’t go away

Swelling in your armpit or near your collarbone. 

changes in the shape of the Nipple  

Breast pain that doesn’t go away after your next period

Nipple Discharge from one breast that’s clear, red, brown, or yellow

        Enlargement of one breast

        Poor appetite

       Weight loss

       Veins on the breast

 

How to do self Detection

  1. Stand in front of a mirror with your shoulders straight and arms on your hips.
  2. Visually inspect your breasts.Repeat with your arms raised.
  3. Lie down on your back to feel your breasts. First, use your right hand to check your left breast. Use the pads of your fingers and move in a circular motion to feel for lumps or other changes
  4. Repeat using your left hand to check your right breast.
  5. You might find it easier to do this in the shower.
