While Brighton's team defeated Arsenal 2–1 in the English Premier League (EPL) match and gave them a shock, Newcastle did not have much effort to beat Sheffield United 2–0. Brighton was won by Neil Maupe, who scored a useful goal for the team after scoring 1–1. The other goal for Brighton was scored by Adam Webster. After this win, Brighton's team fell to 13th in the points table, while Arsenal remained 10th.

Brighton's team did not allow Arsenal to score until the opening 45 minutes of the match, while in the 36th minute Webster scored from inside the box to give the team a 1-0 lead in the match. The first half went to Brighton 1–0. In the second half, Lackjet scored in the 50th minute with an assist from Ozil to return Arsenal to the match. However, when 10 minutes were left for the match to end, Neil dodged two Arsenal players to get the ball to the goal post and Brighton topped the match at 2–1. There were no other goals until the final time of the match and Brighton won. However, in this thrilling match, Brighton was given a tough fight against Arsenal.

Newcastle, on the other hand, defeated Sheffield United to move up to 11th place in the points table, while Sheffield's team remain in ninth place. Both teams have similar 19–19 points, but based on goal difference Sheffield's team sits at number nine in the table. A goal for Newcastle was scored by Alan St Maximin in the 15th minute, while Jonzo Shelvi scored in the 70th minute to make the team's winning margin 2–0.
