India has consolidated the top spot by winning 41 gold, including 19 gold, 18 silver and four on the fifth day of the 13th South Asian Games (Saig). In different competitions, India's competitive performance changed the total to 178 (90 gold, 61 silver, and 27 bronze), leading it to Nepal 116 in second place.

Anthony Amalraj won the gold medal in the men's singles event of table tennis by dishing out the hopes of a golden hat-trick from compatriot Harmeet Desai. In the women's section, Sutirtha Mukherjee became champion by beating compatriot Ahayika Mukherjee. With this, Indian players have captured the highest number of medals at stake in the event with seven gold and five silver. In the final, Amalraj defeated Harmeet 6-11, 9-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-4, 11-9, 11-7 after trailing 0-3. Sutirtha defeated Ahayika 8-11, 11-8, 6-21, 11-4, 13-11, 11-8.

Won 12 medals in track and field events. Asian champions Tejinder Pal Singh Toor (20.03m) won the gold medal in the men's section of Chaka throw and Abha Khatuva (15.32m) in the women's category. Toor broke the 20-year-old record of the SAG Games, which was made in 1999 by Bahadur Singh Sagoo (19.15m) of India. Om Prakash Karhana (17.31m) won silver and Kanchana Chaudhary won bronze.

 The swordsmen won three gold and the same number of silver. Wangelambam Thoiibi, Karan Singh and Sunil won yellow medals. Silver came into the account of Radhika Prasad, Kumaresan Padma Gishonidhi and Jayaprakash Gurprakash.

Weight lifters also continued their impressive run winning four medals including three gold and one silver. Achinta (73 kg), Rakhi Halder (64 kg) and Manpreet Kaur (71 kg) won the yellow medal while Ajay Singh (81 kg) won the silver.

Two Gold in Cycling: Elangabam Chaoba Devi won the Women's Elite and John Naveen Thomas in the Men's Elite Competition in Cycling event. Arvind Panwar won the silver medal.
