Customers of British telecom giant TalkTalk are being targeted by an India-based industrial-scale fraud network, three whistleblowers have revealed to the BBC.
The three whistleblowers said they were working in call centers run by two front-companies instituted by a gang of professional fraudsters.
The gang runs three call centers across two Indian cities. Each office has around 60 employees who work in shifts.
TalkTalk was hit by a cyber-attack in October 2015, but that hack appears to be unrelated to the Indian fraud.
A TalkTalk spokesman said: “We are aware that there are criminals targeting a number of the UK and international companies, and we take our responsibility to protect our customers very seriously."
