New Delhi: Nama Nageswara Rao and Kavitha Maloth, moved an adjournment motion in the Parliament on Tuesday, demanding the introduction and passage of the Women's Reservation Bill. A meeting of all parties to consider the Bill was also called by the MPs in the adjournment motion.

"I hereby, give notice of my intention to ask for leave to move a motion for the adjournment of the business of the House for the purpose of discussing a specific matter of urgent importance, namely, Take up discussion on the Demand to Pass Women's Reservation, Bill," MLC Kavitha saidin the notice she sent to the Secretary-General of Lok Sabha.

Earlier this month, BRS MLC Kavitha staged a day-long sit-in at Jantar Mantar to call for the introduction of the Women's Reservation Bill. 

A round table meeting was held in New Delhi by Bharat Jagruthi, under the direction of MLC Kavitha, with the involvement of over 15 political parties, civil society organisations, and the student body.

Bharat Jagruthi, lead by MLC Kavitha, will shortly begin a "Missed Call Campaign" to raise awareness of the Women's Reservation Bill. In addition to the campaign, there will be round table discussions about the necessity of introducing and passing the Women's Reservation Bill in colleges and universities all across India.

The two Houses passed the Finance Bill 2023 on Monday, concluding the financial process of Parliament's budget session despite loud protests from opposition members over their demand for a joint parliamentary investigation into the Adani issue.

The opposition parties resolved on Monday to continue their "black" protest against the BJP-led government on Tuesday over Rahul Gandhi's disqualification and "trampling upon democracy in the country," according to sources. A decision would be made over the matter in the morning. They organised a black demonstration against the government on Monday, marching from the Parliament building to Vijay Chowk in response to the Adani controversy and Rahul Gandhi's expulsion from the Lok Sabha.

On January 31, the Parliament's budget session officially began. On February 1, the union budget was presented. There have been several interruptions during the second half of the budget session due to opposition demands. Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, has been under pressure from the BJP to retract his comments made in the United Kingdom.

The second part of the budget session has frequently been disrupted due to opposition parties' demands for a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation into the Adani issue.
