British automaker BSA launched its new Royal Bike Gold Star 650 in the Indian market on 15 August 2024. This bike was already available in the global market since 2021. Now, Classic Legends has also launched this powerful bike in the Indian market. This bike of BSA is going to compete directly with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.

Gold Star 650 and Interceptor 650: Design Comparison

Both BSA Gold Star 650 and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 bikes come with retro design. The design of the Gold Star reflects a classic look, while the design of the Interceptor 650 is in roadster style. Royal Enfield has included modern elements like LED headlamps and alloy wheels to improve the design of its bike.

  • BSA Gold Star 650: This bike has a 652 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine. This engine generates 45 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed transmission and the fuel tank capacity is 12 liters.

  • Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: It has a 648 cc, parallel-twin, 4-stroke engine that produces 47 bhp of power at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm. It has a 6-speed transmission and 13.7 liters of fuel tank capacity.

How much is the price difference?

  • BSA Gold Star 650: The starting ex-showroom price of this bike is Rs 2.99 lakh. However, the price of the top-end model goes up to Rs 3.35 lakh.

  • Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Its base model is priced at Rs 3.03 lakh, while the top model has an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.31 lakh.

Thus, the starting price of BSA's Gold Star 650 is Rs 4 lakh less than the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, but its top-end model is priced higher than the top model of Royal Enfield. Both BSA Gold Star 650 and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 offer great features and power in their respective segments. Which bike you will like depends on your needs and budget.
