2 Lakh employees in all over India of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Tripura joined the two-day countrywide strike that had will start from today.The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees blame the Narendra Modi government at the centre of dividing the governing body by starting a new company for the 70,000-odd mobile phone towers in the country so that the telecommunication company incurs losses and can be privatised.

All Federal and Organization of BSNL employees here had called this strike to protest the Central Government's anti-Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) change.

"There has been no pay revaluation of the employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in 2017 beside the government has decided to form a new company detached the existing 70,000 towers of the BSNL which will further add to the suffering of the state-owned telecom service provider which is not able to purchase necessary instrumentality for the regular maintenance work because of lack of funds," Tirthankar Choudhury, said by the convener of BSNL Employee Union of Tripura.The regular work at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) offices crosswise India has been discontinuous as the employees go on strike.
