BTC proposes collaboration with Sikkim to promote tourism in Assam

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has proposed a tourist promotion collaboration with Sikkim. In this regard, the BTC made a formal request to the Sikkim government. BTC head Promod Boro presented the idea to Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang at the latter's Gangtok house.

The idea calls for the creation of collaboration structures between the Himalayan state and the Bodoland Territorial Region to promote tourism and related activities (BTR). The BTC has also provided the Sikkim government a block of land in Kokrajhar for the development of a Sikkim House and a Sikkim Tourism Information Centre.

BTR's headquarters are in Kokrajhar, Assam. A Bodoland Guest House and a BTR Tourism Centre are also planned for Sikkim, according to the proposal."The BTC CEM presented a memorandum proposing a collaboration arrangement between Sikkim and BTR to enhance tourism and related activities," Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang stated.
