The Punjab government on Friday made several announcements while presenting its budget. It includes ranging from smart city to smart village. During the last 6 crops, the government has made arrangements to raise 48 hours of damaged crops and pay it on time. Out of 3555040, 3163640 families were distributed wheat through 1517 e-posh machines. To provide convenience to consumers, the government has implemented a single-window system for the installation of groceries and petrol pumps.

The Punjab government has approved 18540 works such as ponds, street lights, parks, gymnasiums, community halls, drinking water supply Angbadi centers, smart schools, etc. during 2019-20 to make the villages self-sufficient. Out of these, 4768 works have been completed and 3000 crores have been allocated for the next two years. An allocation of 600 crores is proposed to complete the targeted 20440 works in 2020-21.

The Punjab government has made this scheme to provide financial assistance to the owners of half-pucca houses to make their houses permanent. 10000 families have to be benefited under this scheme. This scheme is for those who do not get the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government has proposed 500 crores for this. At the same time, the government has worked towards improving the schools, as a result of which the pass percentage of students of government schools was more than private. In view of this, a budget of 12488 crores has been kept for 2020-21 for school education. This amount is 8 percent of the total expenditure and 23 percent more than in 2016-17. 100 crore is proposed for the construction of 4150 classrooms.
