While women remained a priority in the budget, the elderly and differently-abled have also been given a lot of importance. A special provision of Rs 9500 crore has been made for them in the budget. The same will be spent on improving their standard of living. Currently, the government is providing them many facilities like health, transport, pension, which can now be implemented even better. The government has taken full care of the beggars standing in the last line of the society, and for their rehabilitation, the government has given nearly 4 times more money than last year. In the financial year 2019-20, only Rs 25 crore was given for rehabilitation of beggars, this time 100 crore has been given for them.

The thinking of the government in relation to all the neglected people of the society was seen when the Finance Minister in his budget speech said that he was fully concerned about the problems of the elderly and the disabled. This step of the government is also important because at present there are about 3 crores PwD and more than 10 crore senior citizens. The number of senior citizens is increasing rapidly. According to a report, by 2050 this number will be around 32 crores. Taking care of senior citizens, the government is also bringing a new law for their care which has been introduced in Parliament. It is expected to be passed in the budget session.

After this, more old age homes will be opened in the country for better care of the elderly, who will be equipped with medical facilities. According to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Vyoshri Scheme for the elderly will see a boom. It will be implemented in all the districts in the coming days.

Campaign will lead to de-addiction: In the budget, the government has decided to intensify the campaign of de-addiction. The same will cost 260 crores in the coming financial year. Recently, the government has also introduced a national plan for de-addiction which has been finalized after a detailed survey. According to officials associated with the ministry, for the first time such a huge amount has been given in the budget for de-addiction.
