Apart from this, it can be availed by booking tickets through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The same facility is not for children below 5 years of age. Apart from this, whenever you book a train ticket from the IRCTC website, you will have an option of travel insurance.

For this, you only have to pay 49 paise. After booking the ticket from IRCTC, a link will be given to fill the details of the nominee through SMS and e-mail on your mobile, by clicking on it, you can fill the nominee's information directly by visiting the insurance company website. On opening the given link, information of your ticket details such as PNR, name, birth number can be seen on the insurance company's page. In the page, boxes are made to fill the information of the nominee's name, relationship with him, age, address etc., details have to be updated by filling in them. According to the information given on the website of IRCTC, the benefit of travel insurance of Rs 10 lakh only Only those with confirmed and (awaited) RAC tickets will get it.

Those on the waiting list of e-tickets may not enjoy it. Because the waiting list ticket is canceled automatically if the ticket is not confirmed. Apart from this, this facility is also not meant for children below 5 years of age. Your insurance will start as soon as you start your journey. If any incident-accident happens to you during the journey, you can get the benefit of it. The amount of the claim depends on the damage done in the accident. It is divided into 5 categories. Apart from this, a claim of Rs 10 lakh is found in case of permanent disability and death in accident and Rs 10 lakh in case of complete disability. In case of partial disability in case of accident during rail journey, 7.5 lakh rupees and if injured are admitted to hospital, then a claim of Rs 2 lakh is received. In case of death, help of 10 thousand rupees can also be taken to carry the dead body.
