GUJARAT: Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, stated on Wednesday that the Union Budger 2023-24 fulfills the hopes and expectations of the country’s poor, the deprived, and the middle-class by providing them innovative opportunities for development.
He praised that the Budget "embodies" Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of making India a developed country in the "Amrit Kaal," which the administration refers to as the 25 years leading up to India's 100th anniversary of independence.
He wrote on the microblogging website Twitter in Gujarati, "Prioritizing seven aspects - 'Saptarishi' - inclusive growth, last-mile delivery, infrastructure and investment, green growth, youth power, financial sector, and unleashing the potential of the countrymen, this budget will take India's development to new heights."
In another tweet, Patel congratulated the Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, for presenting a budget that "embodies the vision of the Prime Minister of making India a "Developed Nation" in Amrit Kaal, fulfilling the hopes and expectations of the country's poor, the deprived, and middle class by giving them many innovative opportunities for development."
In contrast, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi said that despite paying more than Rs 1.75 lakh crore income tax in 2022, the Delhi was allocated only Rs 325 crore in the Union Budget 2023-24. Accusing the Centre of meting out step-motherly treatment to the national capital, Kejriwal saidthat the budget had provided no relief from the twin issues of inflation and unemployment. "Step-motherly treatment" once more among Delhi's populace. Over Rs 1.75 lakh crore in income tax was paid by Delhi residents last year. Only Rs 325 crore of that total was allocated for the development of Delhi.
