Lucknow: A three-story building collapsed in Lucknow’s Transport Nagar area on Saturday, resulting in one fatality. Approximately ten people are feared trapped inside the wreckage. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the Harmilap Building, which was used as a godown for a pharmaceutical business.
Officials reported that construction work in the building’s basement was underway when the collapse happened. Thirteen people sustained injuries and have been hospitalized.
Local police, fire personnel, and teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are on the scene working to rescue those trapped. Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar confirmed that the rescue operations are in full swing.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed district officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure prompt medical care for the injured. His office also announced on X that the Chief Minister is closely monitoring the situation and wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
