Lucknow: The Meerut Development Authority (MDA) of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday launched a simultaneous drive against illegal construction and illegal colonies in 16 ward zones of the four zones. The illegal complex of cow smuggler Akbar Banjara in Fatehullahpur was razed to the ground by the authority team in the afternoon. A drive was launched under the leadership of four-zone in-charges against illegal colonies and illegal construction from the city to Bihar.

Recently, the Commissioner had inspected the MDA, in which many employees were found absent, expressing displeasure over this, he had directed action in all the 16 sub-zones on the illegal construction. Since Saturday morning, the administration team was stationed in the authority and the teams along with the magistrate and the police came out. Two shops of Mohammad Iqbal in Ismail Nagar under Zone A, a building in Madhavpuram, a 60-foot road of Mohammad Shafiq, and shops of cow smuggler Akbar Banjara at Fateh Ullahpur have been demolished.
