Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are all set for their upcoming film Selfiee. Recently the makers of films have unveiled the trailer. The film is helmed by Raj Mehta. The duo is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film. In the recent interview, Emraan recalled that Akshay was the first one who called him when his son was diagnosed with cancer.

Emraan Hashmi  speaking about Akshay said, “I’ve followed him as a fan, I’ve adored him. I’ve gotten the privilege of knowing him in the past few years. He was there for me when there was a health issue with my son. He was the first one to call and stand by me, stand by family our family. I didn’t know him well back then. A lot of people surround you in your good times but bure waqt mein jo farishtey aate hai that’s Akshay."

He further speaking about his upcoming film said, “For me only the content is important, it doesn’t matter if it’s a solo hero, two heroes or three heroes film. I don’t know why there aren’t too many multi-starrers being made. They are being made but there should be more films made because they’ve been successful if you look at the trend of past two years and since the dawn of cinema.”

'Selfiee' is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film will also mark Prithviraj Sukumaran and Magic Frames' debut in Hindi cinema production. Selfiee' is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam comedy-drama 'Driving Licence'. The original Malayalam movie was directed by Lal Jr from a script by Sachy. Akshay and Emraan will also be seen having a dance-off on the recreated version of the song 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari'. The original number is from the 1994 film 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' featuring Akshay alongside Saif Ali Khan.
