Dehradun: Information about the overturning of a bus at Rishikesh in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has come to light. The bus was on its way to Neelkanth Mahadev in Rishikesh. 67 passengers on the bus were injured in the accident. A female passenger died there. The case took place in the Muniki Reti police station area. Here, a bus going towards Neelkanth Mahadev in Rishikesh overturned near the saline source. There were about 77 passengers on board the bus. One woman passenger was killed while 67 passengers were injured.
The incident took place around 5 pm on the Rishikesh-Shivpuri motorway under tehsil Narendranagar. Bus number UP54T-8131' overturned near PWD Tiraha. It was going from Haridwar towards Rishikesh Purnanand parking lot, due to brake failure, it overturned uncontrollably and crashed. According to the news received from the same District Emergency Operation Center, Disaster Management, Tehri Garhwal, a total of 77 passengers were on the bus. Out of this, 67 injured passengers were taken to Government SPS Hospital in 108 ambulances and private vehicles, where a woman died during treatment. The remaining 10 injured persons were taken by ambulance to AIIMS Rishikesh. All these passengers are residents of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Indu wife of Bharat age 60 years resident of Ballia. These days rain and monsoon are showing their havoc in the mountains. While rivers are in spate due to rain, there are reports of landslides at places. Slippery is also being seen on the roads due to rain and water, due to which there are reports of road vehicles being victims of accidents and reports from many places. It is being said that in this incident also the brakes of the bus failed, due to which the accident happened.
