Bhubaneswar, In a shocking incident, today, a bus carrying passengers fell off a bridge in Odisha's Angul district and in the incident, approx sixteen people were killed and more than 30 others injured.

DGP KB Singh said, that the accident took place near Deulijhari when the bus from Boudh to Athamallik fell from a bridge at Puruna Manitri.

Angul District Collector Anil Kumar Samal, rushed to the spot to supervise rescue operations and said, the injured were admitted to a hospital at Athamallik where the condition of many was stated to be critical.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked the district administration and police officials to take immediate steps for medical treatment of the injured persons. Also, it was directed by the CM to provide the medical treatments to injured, free of cost.
