Jan Aushadhi Kendra is a scheme under which medicines are made available to the general public at a lower price. Through this, the Central Government provides medicines to the people at affordable rates. The Central Government is encouraging people to open 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras' in different parts of the country through this scheme. The Government has set a target of opening 10,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras by March, 2024.

This is how earnings are:-
The income in the business of Jan Aushadhi Kendra is good. On opening it, 20 per cent margin on sale of the drug is given to the shop operators. Not only that, it also provides for normal and special incentives. As a general incentive, the government refunds the cost of opening the drug shop.

Normal and Special Incentives:-
About 1 on furniture in the shop to open jan aushadhi kendras. 5 lakhs. On the other hand, computers and fridges cost up to 50,000 rupees. This amount is refunded mostly as Rs.15,000/- on monthly basis till the amount of Rs.2 lakhis is completed. This incentive is given on the basis of 15% of monthly paraches or 15,000 whichis higher.

Who can open Jan Aushadhi Kendra:-
The Government has created three categories for opening jan aushadhi kendras. In the first class, any person, unemployed pharmacist, a doctor or a registered medical practitioner is eligible to open a Jan Aushadhi Kendra. On the other hand, the second category consists of trusts, NGOs, private hospitals, Self Help Groups. And, in the third category, the agencies nominated by the State Governments get an opportunity.
