New Delhi: A day after Prime Minister Modi's cabinet expansion, the Union Cabinet and the Cabinet are expected to meet today. Sources say that both the meetings may be back-to-back, the cabinet meeting is likely to be held around 5 pm while the cabinet meeting is likely to be held around 7 pm. Prime Minister Modi had held a cabinet meeting last month to discuss the situation of the corona epidemic in the country. In the same previous meeting, Prime Minister Modi had asked ministers to create an atmosphere among the people to follow the Corona Protocol and get vaccinated.

Prime Minister Modi has changed the portfolios of some ministers while some have been thrown out of the cabinet. There are many faces who will not be seen in this meeting. This is the first time in the second term that the Cabinet has been reshuffled. The PM has appointed Mansukh Mandaviya as health minister, Kiren Rijiju as law minister, Dharmendra Pradhan as education minister, and Jyotiraditya Scindia as civil aviation minister. Yesterday, 15 Cabinet Ministers and several Ministers of State were sworn in, 7 Ministers of State have also received promotions.

The same Cabinet expansion has also represented states including UP and Gujarat where elections are scheduled to be held next year. Smriti Irani will be the Minister of Women and Child Development, though her textile department has been handed over to Piyush Goyal. Piyush Goyal's responsibilities of Commerce, Industry Minister, and Consumer Affairs Minister have also been retained. 43, including former ministers promoted as Cabinet Ministers, were sworn in as ministers at a function 7 held at Rashtrapati Bhavan with corona rules.
