New Delhi: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), a trade union, has strongly objected to Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party National President Arvind Kejriwal's proposal to impose lockdown in Delhi's market areas. CAIT has said that this would prove to be a suicidal step as it would put millions of people in the employment crisis.

CAIT has requested the Central Government to discuss this with traders before taking any decision. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that he is sending a proposal to the Center to allow the Delhi government to implement a lockdown in market areas likely to be corona hotspots. CAIT has requested Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi's LG Anil Baijal to consult the traders before taking any decision on the proposal.

CAIT general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said any such proposal would create a crisis on the livelihoods of millions of businessmen and their employees and others. Khandelwal said that such a proposal of the Chief Minister reflects the failure of the Delhi government to deal with the Corona issue.
