Montreal: In response to "gross and systematic human rights violations" in Iran, the Canadian government announced on Thursday that it would be relaxing its immigration policies for Iranians.
The immigration department stated in a statement that "these measures will make it easier for Iranians who wish to extend their temporary status in Canada."
Iranian nationals will be able to apply for a new work or study permit in Canada and will not be charged some application fees.
Additionally, they will be able to apply for a work permit that will let them work for any employer of their choice in any occupation.
