Several parties have been involved in an all-party meeting called on the issue of violent clashes in the Galvan Valley between the lockdown and the Corona transition. The Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday appealed to the Central Government to change its policy, a day after all national political parties offered full support to the Government of India. He said that he should allow soldiers deployed on the outskirts to carry weapons for self-defense and protection of the country's borders.

During the seventh edition of his Facebook Live 'Ask Captain', the Chief Minister clarified that he does not advocate for sending troops without arms on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He said that it should be the policy of the Government of India that if he kills one of our soldiers, then we should kill his five soldiers. He said that it is totally wrong that soldiers should be sent without weapons and they should not be allowed to protect themselves. He said that when he was posted with his military colleagues for two years on LAC, he was armed with all kinds of weapons while going out on patrol.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister expressed deep grief and anger over the killing of 20 Indian soldiers including four Punjabis and said that we are living in the nuclear age and being beaten with sticks. He said that our soldiers were martyred in the attack with stones and sticks on behalf of the Chinese. Which cannot be believed so easily. Condoling the martyrdom of four Punjabi soldiers in the Galwan Valley, the Chief Minister said that this is very unfortunate. At the same, he said that although we are soldiers of the army, we are always ready to shoot. He said that along with increasing the compensation of the heirs of the martyrs from Rs. 12 lakhs to Rs. 50 lakhs, the government has decided to name the schools after the martyrs. The Captain said that he has already interacted with the family members of the two martyred soldiers.
