Social media has now become a major challenge for police confining people to homes amid lockdowns. On Facebook, Whatsapp, people are trying to disturb the atmosphere by sending objectionable religious, caste, personal messages. In the recent past, the District Police has cracked down on those who tried to disturb the atmosphere. Police have registered four cases against six persons in different police station areas and one has been taken into custody. The MLA has also registered a case for making indecent remarks.
Undignified comments on Facebook against MLA: Sadar MLA Rajkumar Yadav, a resident of Pachauri compound in Kotwali area, complained to CO City that Bhupendra Singh Chauhan had made objectionable comments on him on his Facebook account. They have tried to tarnish their social image. The MLA has appealed for a stringent inquiry against the accused. On receiving the information, police registered a case under Sections 66 and 504 of the IT Act against the accused on the directions of CO CT Abhaynarayan Rai. The police have been involved in the case.
Objectionable remarks against the government in Karhal: Karhal police station SSI Omkarnath Yadav informed Karhal police and complained that Mohammad Chaman son of Mohammad Shaheed, a resident of Mohalla Jatwan in Kasba Karhal, had made more religious comments against the government on Facebook. The complaint was found to be correct in the investigation of the case. Police have arrested the accused Chaman on the information of the informer after giving him a bribe at Mohalla Jatwan. Mobile was also recovered from the accused. The Karhal police have registered a case against the youth under Section 188, 269, 270, 295, 505, Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act for violation of Section 3 Section 144 of the Epidemic Act and sent him to jail.
