Melbourne: Legal action is being taken against two women on charges of trying to pervert the genitals of a 2-week-old innocent girl in Australia. The names of the women- Sabrina Lightbody and Noridah Binte Mohd are mentioned. Both are from a suburb in the Cannington district south of Perth.

The two women reportedly approached a doctor in January this year to have the child circumcised. However, the doctor refused to do this work and told the administration about it. After investigation, detectives from Child Abuse Squad found the case to be true. Please tell that female genital mutilation is considered a crime in Western Australia. So the Australian police accused the women of hatching a conspiracy against the child. Both appeared before Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday.

At this hearing, the women's request from the child protection authorities to retrieve the child's custody was rejected by the court. He also described (circumcision) genital mutilation as a serious crime. The magistrate said that returning the girl to the woman is just like putting the child back in the lion's cave. It is possible that women will be imprisoned for 10 years after being found guilty in this case. The report shows that around 53000 women across Australia have suffered this pain.
