The crime case that has come to light at present is about a dispute over alcohol between a husband and wife living in the Housing Board colony of Pirda. In fact, in this case, Kunti, a victim, used to wash dishes in the houses and the woman's husband Surendra Sen (54), who remains under the influence of alcohol day and night. On the other hand, all the money of the victim was spent on his alcohol addiction.

Instead of bringing rations to the house, the accused used to beat up the victim by drinking alcohol. According to information received in the case, Surendra married Kunti after the death of his first wife. In fact, Kunti used to run the household expenses and Surendra used to beat his wife in front of the people of the locality day after he was drunk. He also used to take money from his wife for drinking alcohol by getting his wife to work in other people's homes. When Kunti flatly refused to pay the money, Surendra beat her up at first.

As soon as the woman's screams were heard outside, people nearby rushed to her house. By then Surendra had set Kunti on fire by spraying kerosene on his wife kept at home. In the meantime, he had fled when he saw people, and Vikas, a young man living next door to the woman, immediately saved her life with another cloth. It was Vikas who called the police and ambulance in the case and the woman is now undergoing treatment. Police have arrested the woman's husband Surendra Sen (54) in connection with the case.
