LOS ANGELES:  Catherine Zeta-Jones, an actress, says her biggest acting regret is never having the opportunity to play a female James Bond.

According to aceshowbiz.com, the 53-year-old Oscar winner stated that previous 007 actor Sean Connery supported her as a substitute for him as the spy after they grew close while filming the 1999 crime caper "Entrapment" together.

"I wished I could have been Bond. Sean Connery and I worked together on a film called "Entrapment" years ago, and he was like my older brother, my dad, and my support "On December 18 Sunday, she spoke with The Sun.

"I adored him so much. He once told me, "You would have been a terrific Bond, girl," and I'm a huge Bond fan. A Bond girl or Bond, I enquired. Then he said, "Bond - girl." Producer of the Bond film series Barbara Broccoli, 62, has reaffirmed that a man will continue to perform the role despite recent requests for the first female Bond.

With her spouse of 22 years, Michael Douglas, 78, Catherine has two children: Dylan, 22, and Carys, 19. She currently stars as Morticia in the Netflix television series "Wednesday," which is a remake of "The Addams Family."
"It was a real treat because it's an iconic show and characters like Fester and Morticia are indelible, they're in our subconscious," the actress said about joining the cast, which features Jenna Ortega in the title role, while focusing on the teenage issues of Wednesday, Morticia's only child and directed by "Batman" director Tim Burton. "Actually, it goes beyond pop culture. My niece is familiar with "The Addams Family," and my grandma, may God bless her, adored the show. I'm really pleased it's going so well -- add Tim Burton's wonderful imagination and some fantastic casting, for starters."
