LOS ANGELES:  Machine Gun Kelly, an American rapper, takes an odd attitude to health. The 32-year-old first-time nominee for a Grammy Award posted a brief video on his Instagram story of his tattooed abs with a pool of undulating leeches covering over his belly button.

He wrote on the clip, "My best pals." Leech therapy on the navel has roots in ancient Egypt and is thought to improve blood flow while detoxifying the liver and digestive system, according to People magazine.

It should make Megan Fox, MGK's fiancée, happy to hear it because the two have been known to consume each other's blood. As part of the news of their engagement in January, she penned, "I said yes, and then we drank each other's blood."

The "Jennifer's Body" actress told "British Glamour" that their blood-swapping is more like a drop or two for "ritual purposes only," rather than a full-on vampire slaughter.

"Hence, I guess to 'drink' each other's blood might mislead people or people are imagining us with goblets and we are like Game of Thrones, drinking each other's blood," she said in April. "It's just a few drops, but obviously, we do consume each other's blood on occasion for ritual purposes only.

I practise all these esoteric activities, including tarot card reading, astrology, and meditation. On new moons, full moons, and other occasions, I perform rituals. Therefore, whenever I do it, it is a passage or is employed for a specific purpose.  And it's managed so that each person drinks a few drops of blood," Fox said.
