CBI arrested a man in Haridwar who defrauded SBI of 800 crores

Haridwar: The CBI team on Friday arrested Vijay Rajendra Gupta, accused of a bank scam worth Rs 800 crore, by a raid in a hotel in Haridwar. He was staying at the hotel with his wife. Accused had submitted his ID to the hotel. The CBI team has taken him to Mumbai with him in his custody. Along with this, CBI has also taken the accused's wife.

Nagar Kotwali in-charge Praveen Singh Koshyari has said that the accused Vijay Rajendra Gupta son Rajendra Gupta resident Thakur Village Kandivali East Mumbai has been detained by the Economic Offenses Wing CBI Navi Mumbai. The CBI team has informed that the accused was accused of an Rs 800 crore bank scam, which was being searched for a long time. His location was found in Haridwar after which the accused has been arrested on the basis of a warrant from the court.

CBI sources said that Vijay Rajendra Gupta has hit SBI with a sum of about eight hundred crore rupees, after which he is absconding. The CBI team was constantly trying to nab him. But the accused couple was in hiding. Eventually, the accused took refuge in Haridwar where the CBI team nabbed him.
