New Delhi: The trouble of Former Home and Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who has been implicated in the turmoil in the INX media case is not reducing. On Monday, the CBI court extended the remand of P Chidambaram for four days. Earlier, in the Supreme Court's Enforcement Directorate (ED) case, P Chidambaram argued that nothing has happened in the probe since the FIR was made in 2017.
"These media trials are going on, Chidambaram is being accused that he has a lot of assets, if a single wrong property is found, I will withdraw my petition," Sibal said. Kapil Sibal told the court that on June 6, 2018, the CBI had summoned P Chidambaram for questioning only once. The whole inquiry is against Section 21 of the Constitution which gives me the right to fair investigation and fair trial.
Kapil Sibal said that ED has asked Chidambaram if he has a Twitter account. When ED had called Chidambaram three times for questioning, Chidambaram never questioned the property and the fake account. Earlier, the court rejected the plea of advance bail filed for CBI custody and asked him to apply for regular bail in the lower court.
