CBI files 12 cases against gangster Chhota Rajan and his other associates

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation i.e. CBI has registered 12 cases against gangster Chhota Rajan and his other associates. These include Bharat Nepali as well. The CBI has booked him on charges of murder, extortion, kidnapping, illegal possession of weapons and other charges. These cases are part of the 71 cases which have been referred to the CBI by the Mumbai Police.

In August this year, a Mumbai court sentenced gangster Rajendra Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan and five others to eight years imprisonment in 2012 for attempting to murder hotel businessman BR Shetty. The court also imposed a fine of Rs five lakh on all the six persons convicted in the case.

All have been charged under the Maharashtra Organized Crime Control Act ie MCOCA, under the provisions of Section 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Arms Act of the Indian Penal Code. Please tell that Chhota Rajan was extradited to India in November 2015. The Central Government transferred the investigation of all the cases registered against him to the CBI. Chhota Rajan was once a known gangster of Mumbai.
