New Delhi: Kashmiri Pandits celebrated 'Sacrifice Day' in the national capital today and vowed to continue the war to regain the motherland. The Kashmiri Pandit community has been celebrating this day for the past 29 years. According to a statement given by Kashmiri Pandits on Saturday, tribal cleansing of Kashmir began by Islamic jihadists in 1989–90.

He reported that, "Thousands of people were killed, women were raped, properties and temples were torn down, threats were published in newspapers to drive away the minority Kashmiri Pandit community." Ashish Razdan, an organizer, said that Kashmiri Pandit migrants around the world celebrate this day every year as 'Sacrifice Day'.

His statement reminded the eviction of more than 5 lakh people from their homes in one night. It said, "More than 50,000 pundits lost their lives due to the adverse weather, starvation, snakebite and migration related problems and health problems caused by Jammu. Over 5,000 security personnel fighting jihadis and terrorists in Kashmir Also had to give martyrdom. " During this event, Kashmiri Pandits also paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.
