Kolkata: The CBI is going to issue a lookout notice against former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. With this, the investigating agency will go to court regarding the evidence against Rajiv Kumar so far. The CBI wants to question Rajiv Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam case, but the agency alleges that Rajiv Kumar is trying to avoid this inquiry.
Rajiv Kumar has asked for 1-month deferment from CBI, but CBI is not ready to give him a 1-month exemption. On 13 September, CBI officials arrived at his official residence to serve notice immediately after the Kolkata High Court withdrew an interim stay on the arrest of former police commissioner Rajiv Kumar in the Saradha chit fund scam case. However, Rajiv Kumar was not at home at that time.
IPS officer Rajeev Kumar suffered a major setback after the High Court withdrew his arrest. This gives the CBI an opportunity to ask Rajiv Kumar to appear before the agency in connection with the investigation into the Ponzi scam. In this chit fund scam, millions of people had lost their hard-earned money and some had to end their lives.
