NEW DELHI: The CBSE today decided to not hold a re-examination for the Class 10 mathematics course, a source from the board reported TOI.

Even though the question paper for the earlier test was leaked, Decision of board for not conducting re-examination is good even for test-takers in Delhi-NCR and Haryana, the two regions where the leak reportedly took place.

The Class 10 math examination was conducted March 28.

Reportedly, the CBSE and HRD ministry officials consider the leak won’t notably impact the overall result. As well, they believe the Class 10 examination, which is a qualifying one for students to move to higher secondary school rather than to university, could be treated in a different way.

An informed source told TOI yesterday that thorough investigation will be done to check unusual variations in marks in the coming days to allow the CBSE to figure out which answer papers point to a leak.

"If a student has done poorly in internal assessment and does exceptionally well in the main paper and this is at variance with his other papers — then we might examine the result more carefully," told the source to TOI.

Meanwhile, the re-examination for Class 12 economics paper will be held as scheduled on April 25.

Till now three people, including two teachers of a private school, were detained by the Delhi Police on Sunday for their suspected roles in leakage of the Class 12 economics paper.
