New Delhi: There has been a ruckus in Tamil Nadu over the question of Dalits being untouchable. In fact, a question paper about Dalits being untouchable in Class VI examination has gone viral on social media. It is being called one of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has labeled the paper as fake. On the other hand, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said that it has no role in preparing the internal examination question papers of schools. Politics has also started on this issue.
Tamil Nadu's major opposition party DMK has made it an issue. DMK Chief Stalin has questioned this. Stalin tweeted that it is very shocking. Such questions related to caste have been asked in the Kendriya Vidyalaya class examination which promotes communalism apart from casteism. Strict action should be taken against the person who prepared this question paper under the law. He also tagged his tweet to the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Actually, the multiple-choice question was asked, what does the word Dalit mean? There were alternatives in this answer, foreign, untouchable, upper class, and middle class. TTV Dinakaran, leader of another party from Tamil Nadu, has condemned it. He said that, how did CBSE ask this question without thinking of the impact of this sensitive issue on children. This is a wrong tradition. People responsible for this should be acted upon. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan said that it has taken cognizance of the viral fake question paper on social media. It is said to be from a central school in Tamil Nadu or Puducherry.
