New Delhi: Late CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat will be cremated in Delhi Cantonment On Friday, December 9.  . A military plane carrying their mortal remains is slated to arrive in the national capital this evening. On Friday, the bodies will be brought to his home, and visitors will be able to pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a funeral procession that will begin at the Kamraj Marg and end at the Brar Square crematorium in Delhi.

The Indian Air Force announced General Rawat's death on Twitter late yesterday evening. After receiving care at a neighbouring hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The Indain Air Force tweeted on Wednesday, "With profound regret, it has now been determined that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs. Madhulika Rawat, and 11 other personnel on board have died in the terrible mishap."

When his chopper crashed near Coonor in the Nilgiris district, Gen Rawat, India's first CDS, was on his way to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington to address the professors and student officers of the Staff Course.
