Bhopal: When the mortal remains of Group Captain Varun Singh arrived at home, his mother Uma Singh placed a hand on the shoulder of her daughter-in-law Gitanjali Singh. 'You are the brave daughter of the family, the greatest warrior,' he said to his daughter-in-law in the meantime. Let me tell you that the Group Captain's lifeless remains were held for a time in Bhopal's Sun City Colony. After that, he was transferred to a military hospital. An Army plane carried the mortal remains of Group Captain Varun Singh from Bengaluru to Bhopal airport at 2.35 p.m. on Thursday, as you are all aware. The captain was honoured by ministers and MLAs from the Madhya Pradesh government.

The mortal remains were then taken to his house in Sun City Colony in Bhopal in an army vehicle. The mortal remains were taken home after performing Tilak Vandana here. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also followed the army vehicle and paid homage. You must know that Varun Singh, who was injured in the helicopter crash of CDS Bipin Rawat in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, passed away on Wednesday. In fact, Varun was hospitalized in Bengaluru for 7 days and was fighting the battle for death though death took him with him.

Varun's last rites will be held at Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Bairagarh) at 11 am on Friday. Varun's father KP Singh told the collector that 'if the last journey takes Bhadbhada, there will be a traffic jam in the city. He doesn't want people to be upset because of his son. In fact, the government was going to take the last visit to Bhadbhada, but it did not happen at the behest of the father of martyr Varun.
