The festival of Guru Purnima is celebrated every year. This year, the festival is being celebrated on 24th July. Guru Purnima is celebrated every year on the full moon date of the month of Ashadh. On this day, the disciples worship their Gurus. It is also known as Vyas Purnima. This is because it was on this day that Maharshi Vedvyas, the first guru of Sanatan Dharma, was born. It is believed that it was Maharshi Vedvyas who imparted knowledge of the Vedas and that is why Maharshi Vedvyas arose as the Aadi guru in Sanatan Dharma.

Know the importance of Guru Purnima here: It is said that Lord Vishnu and Lord Jupiter are also worshipped along with all gurus on the day of Guru Purnima. In fact, according to the Hindu Panchang, the full moon date started at 10.45 a.m. on 23rd July and ends at 08.08 a.m. on 24th July. Tell all of you that Maharishi Vedvyas is considered to be the producer of 18 Puranas besides Shrimad Bhagwat, Mahabharata, Brahmasutra, Mimansa. It was on this date that Vyasji first imparted knowledge of the Scriptures to his disciples.


Guru Purnima worship method: Yes, you should get up early in the morning on this day. After that, you should take a bath and wear clean clothes. Now build a diameter back by laying a white cloth in a clean place. Then install the idol of Guru Vyas on it and offer them roli, sandalwood, flowers, fruits, and prasad. Now chant the mantra 'Guruparamparasiddhyartham Vyaspujam karishye' and chant the Surya Mantra. Then meditate on your guru and also worship Lord Vishnu on this day. On this day, panjiri of flour should be made and offered.
