Washington: Women in Film (WIF) has announced the distinguished honorees for the 2024 WIF Honors event, recognizing some of Hollywood's most influential women. This year's ceremony will take place on October 24 at the Beverly Hilton, celebrating the theme "The Power of the Collective."
The honorees include notable figures such as Annette Bening, Michelle Buteau, Joey King, Ellen Kuras, Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, Kerry Washington, and Kate Winslet.
Jurnee Smollett, a member of the WIF board of directors, will kick off the annual event with opening remarks. Winslet and director Kuras will receive the prestigious Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film for their contributions to the film Lee. Buteau and Sanchez-Witzel will be honored with the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Television for their work on Survival of the Thickest. Annette Bening will receive the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award, chosen personally by Fonda, while Kerry Washington will be presented with the Entrepreneur in Entertainment Award. Additionally, Joey King will be recognized as the 19th recipient of the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award.
"The 2024 honorees embody the essence of leadership, creativity, and advocacy that WIF has championed for over 50 years," said WIF CEO Kirsten Schaffer. "Their remarkable contributions, both on and off the screen, reflect the progress we are making toward a more equitable and inclusive entertainment industry. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and the lasting change they inspire."
The event also aims to support WIF's educational and philanthropic initiatives while advocating for gender parity in the entertainment field.
