New Delhi: An explanation has been issued by the Central Election Commission on the news of the deployment of the Central Security Force before the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. The Central Election Commission has clarified that sending Central Police to the states going to held elections is not a new thing. The Election Commission said that the central security forces have been sent even earlier and this time the same has been done.
The Central Election Commission has made it clear that the objective of sending the Central Police is to reach out to the states in advance for the elections and prepare themselves for conducting peaceful voting in sensitive areas. The Central Election Commission had issued orders in this regard on February 16 to the Chief Secretary, DGP, and Chief Electoral Officer of the 4 states and 1 Union Territory going to the polls.
Assembly elections are to be held soon in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. The Election Commission is busy completing its preparations for these elections. The Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for the assembly elections to be held in these four states and one union territory within the next few days.
