Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says, funds allocated to the state by the central government under various initiatives are not completely utilised due to "official indifference" in the state. The Assam Chief Minister made the statement while addressing at a gathering to distribute appointment letters to 546 new government officials. Sarma urged the new officials to create a new work culture in the federal govt.
He said that several schemes in Assam are not being properly executed due to employees' unwillingness to work hard.“On many occasions in the past, funds received from the central government for implementation of development schemes could not be fully utilised for the apathy of officials engaged in the works here,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
