New Delhi: The central government will allow the Chinese company Huawei to participate in the 5G trial keeping in mind the interest of the country. A senior telecom department official confirmed this. The department is hopeful that spectrum will be auctioned by late December or January. For this, the Digital Communication Commission (DCC) will decide the base price of the airways, which will be sent for cabinet approval. DCC is the apex decision making the body in the Department of Telecommunications.

Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash told reporters, "We have held a meeting this month. A meeting of the DCC can take place at any time next month. However, he did not say anything about whether a decision could be taken on the price of spectrum in the upcoming meeting. He said that "the auction to be held in late December or January, so we have to decide before that. Now we have to see whether it will be decided in this meeting or in the next meeting".

The government will take the decision that will be in the national interest. He did not specify a time frame for this decision". Earlier this month Huawei said it hoped the Indian government would treat all types of foreign investment fairly. He requested India to take a decision with Azad Khayal to allow 5G trials in the country.
