Government clarifies statement of free Covid-19 vaccine, 'Will be given to corona warriors'

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in a statement on Saturday that the Corona vaccine will be given free of cost across the country. After which it was believed that the corona vaccine would be given free to all the people of the country. Now, this statement of Dr Harshvardhan has been clarified by the government. The government has said that the free vaccine will be only for front line health workers and Corona warriors.

The statement of the Health Minister and the Government has come at a time when India is going to start the world's largest coronavirus vaccination campaign. After reviewing the dry run in a government hospital, Harsh Vardhan told the press people that, I urge people not to believe any rumours. Our main criteria in vaccine testing is safety and efficacy, there will be no compromise. In Delhi, the mock-drive is being operated at three places, including the government-run Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital at Shahdara, the Primary Health Center at Daryaganj, and the private Venkateswara Hospital at Dwarka.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Health have informed Dr Harsh Vardhan about various reforms made for the rehearsal, without any hindrance throughout the country. These include increasing the number of telephone operators to answer every possible question asked by the teams conducting the rehearsal at the ground level.
