India lodges strong protest with Pak over demolition of Hindu temple

New Delhi: India is protesting against a case of temple vandalism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  1,500 people led by members of Pakistan's radical Islamist party demolished a temple after setting it on fire.

India has lodged formal protest via diplomatic channels with Pakistan in this case of vandalization of the teample. . Pakistan's Religious Affairs Minister Noorul Haq Qadri termed the destruction of the temple against the teaching of Islam saying the constitution of the country ensures protection of religious places of minorities. Meanwhile, the information minister said today that the temple will be rebuilt using provincial government funds. The temple was destroyed in the town of Karak and drew condemnation from human rights activists and Pakistan's minister for human rights, Shireen Mazari. In the video which went viral on the internet, attackers used sledgehammers to knock down walls before setting it on the fire. 

Reacting on the destruction of the temple, Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha President Swami Chakrapani demanded that the neighbouring country should be declared as "terrorist state".
