New Delhi: After a long wait, central government employees will now start getting Dearness Allowance (DA) of basic pay from July 1. The Centre has recently given the green signal to the proposal. At the same time, the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of the employees has also been increased, i.e., the salary of central government employees in the month of August will come with a double benefit. With the increase in Dearness Allowance, the Central Government has also increased the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of employees.

As per the rule, the HRA has been increased as the dearness allowance is more than 25 per cent. The centre has, therefore, increased the house rent allowance to 27 per cent. According to the government order, HRA for X, Y and Z cities cannot be less than 5400, 3600, and 1800. On the lines of the Central Government, the Government of Rajasthan has also increased the Dearness Allowance of employees from 17 percent to 28 per cent. The increased rate of Dearness Allowance has come into effect from 1st July 2021.

After the Centre, the Rajasthan government first increased the DA, and then the Haryana government gave a big gift to the employees and pensioners. Here also, the DA of employees has been increased from 17% to 28% and the increased rates have been implemented on 1st July 2021. Even after the adverse effects of the Covid epidemic, the Karnataka government is all set to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees by 11 percent.
