Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Telangana on Sunday after the Kakatiya Rudreshwara Ramappa Temple was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The PM also urged citizens to visit the temple which was built during the rule of Kakatiya dynasty.

 In a tweet, Prime Minister greeted, "Excellent! Congratulations to everyone, especially the people of Telangana. The iconic Ramappa Temple showcases the outstanding craftsmanship of great Kakatiya dynasty.

IN addition, the Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region G Kishan Reddy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance and support as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) conferred the World Heritage inscription to Ramappa Temple, also known as Rudreswara Temple, at Palampet, Mulugu district, near Warangal in the state of Telangana.

The Rudreswara temple was constructed in 1213 AD during the reign of the Kakatiya Empire by Recharla Rudra, a general of Kakatiya king Ganapati Deva. The presiding deity here is Ramalingeswara Swamy. It is also known as the Ramappa temple, after the sculptor who executed the work in the temple for 40 years.
